How does all this work?

In a nutshell, members of the community wishing to make a little money off of their gently used children’s and maternity items, register to sell with us, tag their items and drop them off at the sale location the week of the event.  Just Kids Resale takes care of the rest!   We take care of all advertising, location rental, insurance and staffing considerations and cut you a check for your sales within days of the end of the event!  Sellers retain 70% of their sales and as much as 80%, if volunteering to help with the event.

Do I have to use your online tagging system?

Yes, all sellers are required to use our online tagging system to participate.

We are convinced, however, that you will not only find it easy to use, but a fun way to track your sales, as well!

Tags are created using simple drop-down menus to select sizes, prices or add descriptions.

It’s as simple as “Clicking a Box” to donate to charity at the end of the event or discount your item on 50% off day. You can select items individually, select all, or none.

Have several of the same item? Create just one tag and change the quantity, rather than having to enter multiple tags!

Sales are uploaded at the end of each day so that you can see exactly what was sold, when. No guessing!

Didn't sell all your items this time around? They remain in your account as inventory and can be just transferred to the next sale.

Forgot when you signed up to drop off your items? Or need to change the day/time?  No problem!  Both are easily done from within your account.

Want to sign up to volunteer?  Again, all online and can be changed as necessary.

Do clothes sell well?

YES! This is absolutely the place to sell your kids clothes!   For the smaller sizes, we recommend you try selling them as an outfit. Can't figure out what to do with all those socks? Pin them on the outfit! Remember those hair bows and hats too! Accessorize!

Do toys sell well?

YES! And very fast too! Of course, toys that present well sell the fastest. So, wipe down those toys before you bring them and don't forget the big OUTSIDE toys either! They are always a hot commodity, especially at the spring sale.

Do I have to hang all my clothing?

Yes. Clothes on hangers present better, look more organized and help you sell more.  Please hang all items so that the top of the hanger looks like a question mark when viewing the front of your item.

Do you sell adult clothing?

No, we accept boys and girls clothing up to size 16 and shoes up to size 7.  We also accept Junior’s clothing (odd sizes) 0 to 13.   Junior clothing must be in style and meet our normal consignment standards.

Is there a limit to the number of items I can sell?

The only limitation we place on clothing is in the Juniors sizes.  Consignors are limited to bringing their best 15 pieces of Juniors clothing only.

How should I price my items?

General guideline is 1/4 to 1/3 of the original sales price. Items in excellent condition and name brands will sell for more than items of lesser quality. Remember, items must be in good condition to be accepted in the sale. Shoes need to be in top quality and generally are priced less than clothing (about 20%-35%). Popular, quality toys such as Little Tikes, Step Two, Perego, Brio, etc. can be priced more. Hard to find items such as double strollers can also be priced more. If in doubt, ask us. We can tell you what similar items have sold for. Ultimately, ask yourself, "Would I buy this for $xx.xx?" Also, if you know the current retail price for your item, include that information on the tag in the description area. Or, if it is no longer sold, try writing 'paid $xx.xx for new' on the tag.

If you are looking to competitively price your items so that 85% or more of what you brought sells, we recommend you review our Pricing Strategies. Again, these are only guidelines. The price is ultimately completely in your hands.

Can I use staples to attach my tags?

No, only safety pins, one inch or greater or a tagging gun (see below).

Staples tend to leave holes in garments. Those tiny gold pins do not hold up well and break easily. And please, Please, PLEASE do not use straight pins! Ouch!  Items secured with small gold pins, staples, or straight pins will be pulled from the floor and returned to you at the sale’s conclusion without having been put out for sale.

Can I use a tagging gun to attach my tags?

Absolutely, but with one fairly large stipulation. Tags attached with a tagging gun should be put through the manufacturer’s tag (where the size is) on the clothing or through a seam ONLY! Otherwise you run a huge risk of putting a hole in the clothing and rendering it unsellable. Please be extremely careful as to placement when using a tagging gun!

How do I tag multiple pieces?

If your outfit or item is composed of multiple pieces, just print out multiple copies of the same tag and attach them to each piece. Our computer system will recognize them as being part of the same set and will only charge the buyer once.

How should I package bed linens, receiving blankets, etc. to sell?

Most buyers want to be able to inspect the items to make sure they are in good shape. Best packaging? Some sort of zippered, clear plastic bag that allows the item(s) to be removed for inspection, but kept behind protective plastic to keep from getting soiled. Putting them in Ziploc type bags is fine, but make sure that the buyer can clearly see all the contents.  Please note:  We do not accept crib bumpers or comforters/blankets that have any fiber filling.  Only single layer blankets, such as receiving blankets, are accepted.

How should I package books?

When selling your books, keep in mind that although used, most people would prefer to buy books where the cover and inner pages are not all torn. Take care with the type of tape you use to attach your price tag to the book and the location. Suggestion: Consider grouping several of the same type of books together and selling as a set.  You can tie the books together in a bundle with some sort of string or curling ribbon.

How should I package shoes?

The biggest concern with shoes is keeping them TOGETHER. The best option is to attach the shoes using some sort of zip tie, curling ribbon or pipe cleaner through the shoelace eyes to keep them together. If attaching the shoes by way of the shoelace eyes, poke a hole in the price tag first and run your string/zip tie/pipe cleaner through it before continuing. We prefer you not place your shoes inside Ziploc type bags, as it makes it difficult for consumers to inspect and check them for fit.

What types of furniture do you accept?

We accept cribs (manufactured AFTER June 28, 2025), changing tables, day beds, youth beds, kids twin beds, bunk beds, kids dressers, toy boxes, rocking chairs (adult and kids), and any other item that a baby or child would use.  Just be sure to check your items for any applicable RECALLS before bringing them to the event.

Do I need to assemble my furniture?

Definitely! Yes! Furniture sells much better if it is put together. The seller is able to see that it is complete, what it looks like and any cosmetic damages it may have. This is why we ask that you either bring the items assembled or assemble them at the sale location.

Can I sell my crib at Just Kids Resale?

If your crib was manufactured after June 28th, 2011, YES!!  We’d love to have you bring it to the sale.  Those manufactured before that date, however, do not meet the safety regulations imposed by the government back in 2011 and cannot be legally sold by anyone. For more information on this topic please see the following article on the Consumer Product and Safety Commission website: http://www.cpsc.gov/onsafety/2011/06/the-new-crib-standard-questions-and-answers/

I've found more items to bring than I originally told you. Do I need to inform you?

No. You gave us a general idea of the number and type of items you were bringing to the event when you registered. If you've found more items than expected, good for you! It may take a little longer than originally expected at drop-off, but you do not need to contact us.  If you have over 150 items, however, it may be a good idea to sign up for two drop-off shifts.

Do I have to sign up for a specific drop-off time?

Yes. To help with resource planning, all sellers must select a designated drop-off time.  This is easily accomplished from your Consignor Homepage in our online tagging system.

How do I qualify to shop the Pre-sale?

Our private, Pre-sale event is limited to our Sellers, Volunteers and those who have purchased Presale Passes. Registration is required. Our volunteers shop first and foremost as, without them, our event could not take place. (No, you do not have to be a seller to volunteer with us.) Please see the individual sections of this website for more information.

Can I bring my child to the Pre-sale?

Unfortunately, because of space limitations and fire codes, and for safety reasons we do not allow children at the Presale unless they are carried in a front or back carrier/sling.  Make a fun night of it!...get your friends to sell with you and then you can all get out of the house for a girls’ evening away WITHOUT the kiddos! Come early, bring some coffee and have fun talking with other parents. Then go out after the sale and relax.  Just remember, Presale eligibility is limited to those who fall under one of the following categories:   seller, volunteer or someone who has purchased a Presale Pass.

Can I bring my friend, mom, other to the Pre-sale?

Unfortunately, no. In an effort to preserve the value of our volunteer pre-sale incentives, only those with passes can shop the Pre-sale event. If you have someone else who wishes to come along with you to the pre-sale, may I suggest you volunteer together for one of the shifts available throughout the event. Not only would you be able to hang out and have a great time working together in our relaxed, friendly environment, but our volunteers get to shop the pre-sale event even earlier than our sellers and those who have purchased Presale Passes. So, you're guaranteed to get some of the best bargains out there!

Can I help?

Absolutely! Just Kids Resale would not be possible were it not for our amazing volunteers! We'd love to have you on our team! And our volunteers get to shop the private, Pre-sale event as well! For more information or to see shifts available see our Volunteer section here.
